Recreational Target Shooting
Ever since I can remember my dad would take me target shooting. It was a time when we could get together and brush up on our skills, talk, and create great memories. My grandparents owned several acres surrounded by trees, here we would set up our targets and practice. I always looked forward to Thanksigiving and Christmas time at my grandparents because all of the brothers, and cousins would go out and target shoot while the women made dinner. This was a time when everyone would pull out their pistols, rifles, handguns, and even guns that they had bought from a little country store that had used guns for sale and great old rifles for sale. Everyone would end up being jealous of what the other one had and would end up trading around. We would choose targets to shoot at like paper targets, popcans, a stump, anything that would challenge the other one. When deer season came we were always ready to go! I remember that one year my dad shot 3 deer in one day! They were all 10 pointers, too. Man could he hunt! He was the best. He would take those deer and get the meat from them and then have them mounted on a wall. He loved guns and really loved hunting. Guns are a great item to pass on to friends, family and children. I love those old memories of target practicing and love to take my grandchildren out to the same farm and teach them what my grandfather taught me.
